Exciting, realistic, brief and to the point, this well-written first-hand account of crossing the Bay of Biscay in all its thrilling detail was a great read. We recently made the same crossing in our 44' catamaran, under very different conditions (beautiful blue skies and sunshine) and were quite astonished at the tenacity of Gary and his wife and how they endured the conditions they encountered. The book is a short one but a must read for any ocean-going sailor as it points out some of the to do's and not-to-do's in similar circumstances. We can all learn from others' experiences and thank goodness this story has a happy ending!Product details

A very descriptive personal account of a voyage gone wrong. As a sailor I came away with some sound advice. As a woman I came away with a renewed appreciation for true love and devotion in a relationship. Thanks to Gary(and Jan) for sharing their story!
The author and his wife get dismasted, thrown overboard, and rolled several times on a 24' boat and live to tell the tale,
Quick read. Any sailor would love this & be shaking in their boots thinking this could happen to them.
This is a very quick read and author gets right to the point. I hope I never experience his misfortune.
Just finished "Biscay Our Ultimate Storm" and all I can say is WOW! Gary E. Brown's writing so captivates the reader that we can see the crest of the waves coming and even feel the warmth of the water. A must read for anyone who once cruised, will cruise or even dreams of cruising. There are plenty of lessons to be learned from Gary and Jan's experience.
This Mini E-book accomplishes more in 35 pages than most Sailing bestsellers do in 300 pages... .There are thousands of wrecks on the bottom of the Bay of Biscay ...and Gary and Jan Brown's boat should have been among them. Humble - as always - and almost apologetic for being alive, Gary Brown refuses to acknowledge that they survived a "perfect storm". Two gales?
